    Question:

As most of you may or may not know Safari Snorkel has come up with a model that is compatible to the 2nd generation Tacomas. I'm thinking of getting one but the only problem is the Snorkel is designed to fit into the stock air intake. I talked to an ARB rep and he tells me despite the fact the Snorkel is not designed for the TRD cold air intake, he tells me it can still be done by using a turbo coupler to connect the two.

Has anybody have a Snorkel connected to a TRD cold air intake that can give me some installation imput?

For some reason you reminded me of this video:

    https://youtu.be/K30n6vNHHrE

There's a TRD intake on it, but I don't know which vehicle they're installing it on.

My guess the 2016 and 2011 TRD cold air intakes are pretty much identical. So if he was able to fit that Snorkel on his 2016 tacoma I pretty confident I can fit the snorkel in a 2011 tacoma model ;)

My main question is, can I install a safari snorkel and make the connection with an aftermarket Air Intake in which my case a TRD Cold Air Intake?

The video shows it's possible but he really didn't show or explain the connection part between snorkel and TRD CAI

Well... not really anything to show from pics without removing fender liner and I don't have time to do that now.
The PO mentioned the snorkel is for the hilux and it does not fit the fender perfectly.

    Too many to list..
While I didn't use the TRD intake, I have the AFE Stage 2 Box (Basically the same design). I followed the FJCruiserForums guys tips. Ended up cutting @ 1/4" from the air inlet on the CAI. Then sanded it down with a Dremmel to make it nice a smooth.

I used this coupler to join the snorkel to CAI.

    https://www.amazon.com/Fernco-1056-...qid=1502142571&sr=8-1&keywords=fernco+1056-43

I had to use soapy water to get the 2 to slide on to one another. But it worked out great and looks good.

Thank you all for the advice and helpful tips. I'll be installing this myself, wish me luck. Lol

Any updates? I just installed the safari snorkel on my 09 and was looking for pretty much the same thing your doing but I don't have the TRD intake however it seems like it would be fairly straightforward
