I got my letter yesterday, but it has been a few months since I replace those pieces of junk that I gave to my yard guy to convert into weed eater holding shelves for his lawn mower trailer. I hope that if I show them the receipt for my skyjackers which I still have, they will reimburse the money I spent.

Get your pound and then sell them when you upgrade.

posted this here, but for those who didn't see: I called Toyota yesterday after getting the 2nd letter- got some good news for those of us who have already replaced the leafs prior to the recall like i did. They are now accepting letters & receipts for reimbursement for parts & labor. faxed in my docs- Toyota followed up w/ an automated email. said they are reviewing and hope to respond in 45 days.

My truck squeeked like crazy till I lifted it. Like legit if you touched the truck it squeeked. You think I should go in and have them test the frame and what not?

Got an "interim update" letter the other day saying it would be 2016 before having their shit together to come in for recall. Wondering if they are gonna reimburse me for the 4 leaf packs I already bought by just having cc & pp transaction printouts?

I'll check with them about accepting paypal transaction printout and/or bank statement since I don't have a receipt like from a store or dealership. That was the jist of my question, not whether they will be reimbursing at all.........

Got my updated letter yesterday. Says not until 2016, but it still doesn't say what the fix will be. Anything less than new leafs would be a total mess.

I've totally had it with this shit - the springs are so bent and weak it's almost dangerous to drive . Been dealing with this since Jan of '13 when I bought it , dealerships wouldn't address it then and still won't now since none of the leaves are fully broken . Go around a curve and catch one bad expansion joint or pot hole and it will all but change lanes with no warning . Bottoms out on the smallest bumps and gets nearly out of control under braking on rough pavement - which is almost all of it in Illinois . I'm getting rid of this piece of shit - someone else can deal with it . I think Toyota owes us a 1.5+ buyback option - I want my money back , period . What I really want is a face to face with one of their factory reps - and that's gonna get ugly .

USMC - no better friend , no worse enemy .

You should sell it Kevin. You should sell it soon. Before you die in a fiery auto accident.

I can't believe it's been a year or so and still no resolution to this. This is some straight-up BS, as i'm sure a freaking year is plenty of time to get new leafs made for everyone affected. Really thinking that this "fix" is pure vaporwear and Toyota is banking on people either switching to a 2.5Gen, taking care of this themselves, or just dealing with it. Damn ridiculous!

Pretty sad. If there were a few crash and burn wrecks because of this, you could bet the "remedy" would be chop chop.

Since some have reported getting their leafs replaced at the dealer and Toyota footing the bill or at least getting reimbursed, I'm betting that Toyota is only replacing these on a case-by-case bases (i.e. if you bring your broken leafs to the dealer) while the rest of us with weak and/or sagging springs will have to wait until the springs actually break.

Frankly , a smartass remark isn't necessary . I'm sure my 40yrs of turning wrenches will suffice in keeping me safe and no one else ever drives the truck . I'm concerned about others that do not pay close attention to how a vehicle handles and new noises - those are the ones that are in danger . It's disgusting how Toyota is almost ignoring the issue and keeps pushing it down the road , no excuse for not having new springs available and owning up to the issue . I bought a truck with a specified weight capacity - it cannot achieve even 50% of that weight . Shocks are in great shape , but the springs cause it to become erratic while cornering easily - that's bs .

I feel your pain. I can afford springs, it's just a matter of principle with me. I expected them to own up a long time ago. They shouldn't have dangled a carrot so soon if they cant walk the talk. I went through this crap with my 4-Runner too. I had to replace the rear ball point springs in it. Some big Moogs did the job.

I had my frame replaced 3 weeks ago, & they replaced my springs at the same time.
Brand new 3 leaf + overload with new bushings.
Truck feels much tighter, but I don't know about load capacity yet.
    I'll let u know.
