My original battery from 2012 died yesterday. I picked up a Duracell 27F battery from Sams Club. The specs on the battery look great with 840 CCA and 1035 CA and it is currently on sale for $79.94 until tomorrow. 36 month replacement warranty. The battery is slightly taller than the OEM battery, it is about 8" tall whereas the OEM battery is about 7 3/4". The small difference makes a difference since the rear battery hold down clamp is not adjustable in length. I picked up a battery hold down clamp so I could use the longer J hook at Advanced Auto for $6 and now everything fits perfectly. Overall I am very happy with the specs of the battery and the price was great.

    That is a great price.

Must make those who buy northstar and optimum for $225+ feel silly! Same spec as those overpriced brands for a third of the cost, no brainer.

Hmmm, that would be worth joining up for a year if they got one for a 2017.

It has a RC of 195?

    *ETA*
Just looked it up. It has a RC of 140 & isn't sealed so it's not even in the same ballpark as the ones you compared it to.

Batteries are a hit or miss,no matter what brand or price,so the O.P did good,no sense in spending more money.

The Duracell batteries made by East Penn in the USA were decent.
Guess nothing good lasts too long if what you said is true.

Cool, but I don’t want to join Sams Club just for this. I wish Walmart had the same deal!

They were local to me. Warren buffet bought them out and closed the plant in South Carolina and shipped it over seas

The battery has a sticker on it that says "Made in Usa" with imported and US materials. The main draw here for me was a great 36 month replacement warranty and a super low price for more cca than my original offered. For my use this fits the bill nicely. 2nd choice would have been the Costco Interstate battery but that store is much further away for me.

That’s just a regular car battery. Costco sells interstate ones for less work 5 year warranties.

North Star and optima are AGM deep cycle batteries. Not even close.

It is in fact made by East Penn Mfg (Deka Batteries).
If we were allowed phones at work I could show you the label room and the line they come off of.

The batteries in all my vehicles and boat are either Costco or Walmart. They have all been relatively inexpensive and dependable. They all have lasted at least 5 years. At 5 years I always replace my batteries rather than have them die at some inopportune time and place. Based on the cost of my last 27 series Costco truck battery it works out to be about $18 a year for battery cost which is damn cheap. If I was a Sams Club member I’d buy that Duracell battery in a minute.

Gah!!! I feel like such an idiot for not buying a non-AGM battery that will likely die after 2 years when I'm in the middle of nowhere.

    I added a bolt once...
Not an expert... is the date on that battery 9/19?
Meaning it is 2 years old? No problem with a battery which has sat 2 years?

I googled and got varying answers. Good price though.
