San Bernardino - Cool Place?????

That's all there is up the 15 freeway is desert, but there is plenty of other trails, desert, rocks, etc. for your offroading pleasure. If you have sand toys or are thinking about getting some, there is also Glamis that's 2.5 hours away. Mountain trails are almost in your backyard.

 

Redlands isn't bad. Look into that, Yucaipa, riverside, corona, loma Linda. Those would all be near your job. You can always go a little more west if you want. The good thing about that is you wouldn't hit any traffic since you would be headed away from LA. I'm about 20 minutes west of Redlands.

 

Potential job position change.

So if you had to commute there for work, what town(s) would be worth living in?

 

Victorville or hesperia are your best bet for working in Barstow. Only a 30 minute drive.

 

Redlands is pretty cool. Big Bear is pretty close and Glamis is under 3 hours drive. 10 freeway is the main artery. Cabazon outlet mall and Palm Springs are nearby too. Have Fun!!

 

I'm also looking at a job offer in san bernardino! We were thinking we could live in big bear? IDK. Anyone know the commute from there to San Bernardino?

 

if youre gonna work in barstow you might as well live there IMO, cheap everything and wheelin galore right out your driveway.

i dont do that, but having lived in Oroville, ca for a short time which is considered to be a "meth lab with a mayor", i didnt have any problems with the people who did do that sort of thing.

Furthermore, the OP appears to be a police officer, so i doubt anyones gonna be messign with his house
