I'm leaving for Moab tomorrow evening from Denver. My first choice is to camp at SFRA, but I know it's a busy time for Moab. What are my chances of finding a campsite in SFRA tomorrow night?

Any other cool sites you guys would suggest? A sedan will be joining us on Friday, so I can't take any trails to any (really) cool spots.

I'd say very slim, trying to find a spot there in the dark is a bitch, and you could waste a lot of time driving around in the dark.

I'd recommend out Kane Creek road or off of 313 on the way to Canyonlands. Kane would be my first choice, but there are a few small water crossings that the sedan might not like.

    Kane

    313. Turn right here, there is an established campsite on the right, or drive around and find a cool spot, all BLM land out here.

I was thinking about Kane too. Thanks a ton!

Just noticed two of the coordinates are the same. It looks like your first one listed for Kane is on 313. Regardless, super helpful!

My bad, edited. The two sites on Kane's are near each other and you can see there are a pile of spots out there, all BLM, but pay to play.

I have not been out to Kane in a while but all the BLM land out by moab has been through some changes and camping might be limited because the changes in regulations. I have been hosed a few times lately with my normal secret spots being closed down and only being able to camp where they have the little post with the camping emblem on it. Not trying to scare you but i have been driving in the dark lots and not finding a place to camp as of late.

BLM on Kane is pay camping, there are quite a few sites out there. The dispersed camping out on 313 was still free as of last fall.

Still free on 313 but they closed down a lot of spots

I ended up along Kane Creek Rd in the Ledge B campground. Paid but it worked. I didn't even bother with SFRA at 2AM.

Thanks for all of the input!
