Nah.. it's not always going to be a $10k or more.. You can do a SAS for $5k. But, you get what you pay for. ;)

My project included some of the best stuff I could buy for the truck, and some other stuff not so much. Do some research and look around. If you can't do it yourself, thre is no way you will not spend $5k+

Yeah honestly. My brother was constantly showing me on how to do it. Steady hands

The only weld of mine, was the one I showed of the back bumper tie off point support. All the other ones are his!

Great build thread and great job on the truck. You've got a very capable rig and it's put together well. Every SAS thread I look at (has to be over 50 now) has me wanting it more and more. Pretty much got my mind set on Trail Gears "C" kit 4" front 5" rear for my 4Runner. http://www.trail-gear.com/tacoma Gonna do the work at my Dad's shop in GA. He's got over 40yrs of metal fab exp, I was there helping whether I wanted to or not! Been a while since we've done any projects together.

Thanks to all of those that have already done a SAS and posted builds I've found that I'll be more than happy with leafs and don't need the a Danna 60. But on the other hand I don't want to waste my time with the so called $1500 SAS! Would this be considered pretty legit and trail ready? I know it will be better than my constantly failing IFS. I want 37x12.50's and I only say 4" and 5" to accommodate for the V6 and the 200+ lbs I'll always have in the cargo rear. Still to tall? I don't see rocks at all, lots of sand and mud and lots of off camber trails.

Haven't found anyone that's done the full "C" kit yet. If you don't mind, take a look at the kit and let me know if I'm missing anything. Would really help!

    Other parts for completion
    - spindles
    - hubs
    - radiator
    - long travel drive shafts
    - rear 5.29's (front 3rd comes completed with 5.29's)
    - 37x12.50R15 Pitbull Rockers
    Anything I'm missing?

Thanks for the help. Hope to have build pics in a couple months.

i dont know any answers for you, but for a trail rig you should consider 5.71s with 37s unless you get a crawler box!

That kit has almost everything, I think you will still need front brake lines I didn't see them list it.. If you go with the ARB locker, WHICH YOU SHOULD. You will need an air compressor. If you are truely serious about this kit, call TG and double..TRIPLE check with them what you will need. It sucks thinking you have everything and yet only having 95% of it and getting 2-3 parts overnighted because you need them.

He doesn't need 5.71's. I run 5.38's and they work great. Not to mention he's more trail and not rocks.

Wow great write up. Add about $200 to the SAS price and you have what I paid for my truck. Bet it can't be stopped though. Great Job!

Supra; wished we could have met you at badlands. Still need to beat on a freinds project so we can figure out what it needs next. Probably hummer beadlocks with 37 pitbulls and a 4.3 swap. Thought it would be appreciated in this section.
22RE with 300,000 ,35's, 5.29's, it does have a crawl box and twinstick.
Oh yea why I put it up hear It has a trailgear SAS and it seems to be a good kit so far. Also did the Trailgear rear suspension kit at the same time.

    picks from badlands last year.
