Finally doing a build thread before I get too far into the truck that it's pointless lol

So my truck is a 2010 ACLB OR that I purchased back in June of 2015 with around 65k miles I think. I originally wanted to build a broverlanding rig and then I went wheeling and I went from doing an overland rig to a wheeling/camping rig that I want to stupid shit in. So here's a day of purchase pic and a current pic. And please bear with me I'm doing this on a tablet. I seriously need to build a new PC :bananadead:

Ok now that I got the desktop hooked back up I can do a cleaner post :D

Now my first mod was a Leer topper because I was gonna do a sleeping platform because I was originally going to do a broverlanding rig but that changed when I met @G.T. @mcharfauros @VangaSTL @HIYota and @Tacomania I decided to gear the truck more towards wheeling with some overlanding involved (eventually). Took the platform out after the 2nd Shamrock Shakedown down at Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee
    246.jpg

My Second mod was a set of Sliders from SOS Concepts. I really need to repaint them :anonymous: 1083.jpg 1109.jpg 1111.jpg

This is just just a wheeling photodump :D

about a month or 2 after that @Thtguyrandy was getting long travel so I bought his OME shocks and Icon UCAs I started to look for new wheels and tires1463.jpg
I realized the uniballs on the icons were shot to hell so I'd go ahead and replace them. Well......that didn't work out too well because a snap ring was fused to one of the UCAs rendering one of them completely useless so I decided to get the TC UCAs and had to drive my Slowbaru for a couple of weeks1689.jpg 1691.jpg
after all that I got a set of FJ wheels and then ordered Cooper ST Maxx tires in 285/70/172101.jpg

ATR was about a month or so away I didn't have skids still until @mcharfauros gave me a discount code for a full set of SOS Concepts skids :spending: no pics of them but we all now what skids look like so after that I was as ready as I could be for ATR and couldn't wait to hit some harder trails and really put the Taco to the test. Also picked up a couple of battle scars (whoops lol)

So the last night at ATR was the raffle and I won the $2500 gift card from @Mobtown Offroad :woot: so I ordered my HC rear bumper w/ the swingout, the gas tank skid, and the tailgate reinforcement plate and cap. got the bumper a couple of months later and was super giddy. So with the weight of the bumper I decided to sell the Leer topper so I didn't have all of that weight on the rear and got a Softopper2568.jpg 2816.jpg 2817.jpg 2818.jpg 2957.jpg 2958.jpg 2959.jpg

During this past winter I noticed my truck was vibrating and it was gradually getting worse so I went to my garage and jacked up the rear of the truck and let it run and I looked underneath and my driveshaft wobbling pretty damn bad so I dropped it. I knew I had a dent on it but I didn't realize how bad it was until I took the driveshaft out :anonymous:2871.jpg 2872.jpg 2873.jpg

So after realizing that the shaft was pretty much done for a started to shop around for either a new factory shaft or get this one beefed up. After hearing nothing but good things about Tom Woods' driveshafts I decided to give them a call. Their shafts were about $50 more give or take then a a new factory shaft and decided to order a single piece and so far I have no complaints. I'm actually planning on ordering another one so I have a spare2922.jpg

And then the 3rd annual Shamrock Shakedown was coming up and the truck was pretty much ready to go and didn't need to buy any last minute items/parts and the truck did amazing :D
