Satoshi Grill Question

I'm sure this is a stupid question but....I've got an 06 taco so maybe its different on newer models but....how do you all open your hood once you've done this mod? I pop my hood from inside, then I have to release the safety latch from the grill area...but if that were blocked with a mesh grill how do you do it???

 

Ya, part of the lever sticks down there and I just push it up and it releases the hood. With big hands its hard to get my fingers between the hood and the top of the grill to release it. I'll give it a try and see if I can do it.
