Installed this in recently. Was pretty time intensive and did not come out looking professional, but it suites my liking. Worked with bondo for the first time. I bought some lettering from EGM fabrication and will put that on instead when it comes in!

I just slide my hand between the top of the grill and hood after popping it and just catch the latch with my hand to open it. It's pretty easy to get the hang of, it's habit for me now even when popping the hood on my non-satoshi grill tacoma.

cool. thanks. I like to do a bit of research before I tear my grill up. And I couldn't get my head around the latch part. But I get it now. Thanks

I've been considering grabbing a set from customcargrills. The installation video they have makes it seem pretty easy but they don't use fiberglass and bondo like a lot of these guys did? I'm wondering if the bondo n fiberglass is truly necessary?

I modified my grill using the custom car grills video as a reference and it worked great. No fiberglass or bondo, just used aluminum mesh that I got at Home Depot and attached it with the Automotive goop. I also added raptor lights and a Toyota emblem I found on an 80's Corolla at the junk yard.
