Dropping a line to let introduce myself. I am a Computer Specialist/Network Admin (long way of saying we do everything) for a County School system here in WV. My 05 Tocama is my second Toyota. I have always loved the way a Tacoma looks since they introduced them way back when... I swore in high school I was going to own one and it took until I was 30 to buy my first one. It was a grey 03 Prerunner 2WD and I loved that truck. Didn't do any modding but it wasn't big enough for my campter. (oh it pulled it twice to the mountains but I wasn't comfortable enough with the 2WD and some of the camp spots.) So traded it for my 05 Double cab TRD. The addition of the back doors is great. I am always carrying something out to the truck.. computers.. servers.. my laptop.. switches.. and that extra space makes loading and unloading easy. I didn't think I was going to miss that space in the bed but after the first load I was cussing hard. Oh well.. Just need a trailer I guess. Only mod I have done is my gas mileage was very low (only 16mph on a good day) so I added a K&N Performance air intake and have seen an added 2mpg to my gas. The noise that comes from way down under when I floor it isn't bad either.

I suppose the first mod I will do will be the rear end breather mod or the fog lights independent switch mod. I plan on keeping this one until at least 200k miles... it is at 75k now by then I hope to have the house payed off and I can buy one brand new.

I live in WV but am afraid to take my Tacoma Off roading to hard. It is my only transportation to work (besides my Goldwing and I can't ride that in the snow) and don't want to have it down and out because I zigged when I should have zagged. I love my truck and I love these forums. I have been reading about everything on here.. I think I have read all the how-to's and before I start modding I have the damn bug..... How bad has a lift affected anyones gas mileage? So many questions so little time and money....

Anyway I am here and I am here to say. Love the forums and the people seem very adamant about their Tacomas and about helping out.. I will have many questions in the years ahead I am sure.. not much of a gear head but not afraid to tear into something and learn a little.
