3.17 is not the latest firmware your know. Still to early to tell but so far only 2 confirmed working are running 4.03 and both 06. So does it work only on 06 or only with 4.03 or only both?

I can make another video, but if I rem right you can't choose the letter "O" except for the name TFT which wont matter. I think the rest only have a few letters to choose from.

Yea, just surprised they jumped in versions so fast.

Did anyone with an 06 and an older 3.xx version of scangauge II get it to work?

05+ tacos don't have oil pressure or temp sensors or even fuel sensors for a scan gauge or ultra gauge to read. If they did then I would think they would have installed those gauges on the dash. Like mentioned above there is only a low pressure sensor for the warning light on the dash. You can get an oil sandwich plate and install some aftermarket gauges to read them.

I have a 2010 and no luck yet. However I'm a gadget geek and I'm going to send in my SGII to have it upgraded just for the hellofit.

There are no oil sensors that go through the OBD II port so the SG or UG will not pick it up. An ultra gauge already picks every sensor (53) that goes through the OBD II port without adding any codes and oil is not on the list.

Toyotanation seem to be getting further. It was confirmed working on an 08 (asumming latest version) and was also reported not working on an 06 with an older version.

So it to me looks like if you don't have the latest 4.06 it doesn't work.

    Hi Everyone!

This is James DeLong, and I'm one of the engineers that works for Linear Logic (the ScanGauge manufacturer) and I just wanted to stop by to help answer the questions there seem to be about getting TFT to work.

First - This is the official TFT code:

    Transmission Fluid Temperature (Degrees F)
    TXD: 07E021D9
    RXF: 032180000000
    RXD: 2810
    MTH: 00070065FE70
    NAM: TFT

Second - You ScanGauge will need to be at least version 4.0 for this code to work. Version 4.0 added some special messaging capabilities to the XGauge feature that allow it to retrieve this enhanced sensor information.

Third - Your Tacoma will have to support the CANSF protocol. I'm finding that starting with the 2005 model year Toyota used the CANSF protocol for the Tacoma. There might be issues with 2010+ model years since it seems Toyota may have changed up how their sensors report.

Either way, any feedback you all can provide would be helpful. Also, if you're interested in any other sensors let me know and I'll look into it the best I can. With regard to Oil Pressure, I haven't found anything that reports a direct pressure. I have found documentation on a Oil Pressure On/Off switch - but the documentation simply states the name and that it's a 0 = off 1 = on value, so not much to go on haha.

Hey James. I sent you the email about the code this week. Thanks for joining TW.
You should get my SG today or tomorrow. USPS tells me it was in Phoenix as of yesterday.

Again, welcome to TW. I can't wait to get my unit back.

Damm....just sent you my scan gauge last year....

Whats the policy and whats the turn around time to get an older 3.17 scangaugeII flashed to the newest version?

Will a 2005 tacoma be able to read TFT?

Thanks for stopping by to help

Anyone looking to upgrade their ScanGauge that has a 2005 or newer Tacoma can send me a PM and I'll give them instructions on how to get a free upgrade.

Tacoma 70% Non union American built.
    F150 60% Union American built.
Tacoma comes out the most American built weather union or not.Non union workers are Americans the same as union workers.

Looks like you might fall into that category. Looks like you have a 2010 and maybe 4.02 but you haven't been very clear on details leaving only us to assume and look at your profile to figure out what truck you have. And being updated 2 months ago doesn't assure anything, a physical firmware check of your SG2 and giving us an actual number might be more helpful.
