It's possible. Try setting a custom user color to 0 Green, 0 Blue, and 3 Red. If there isn't any red, then that usually means the solder joint that controls the red LED came loose between display connector and the circuit board. We can fix that for free for you, or if you're handy with a soldering iron it's fairly simple to fix yourself.

Ahahha, what happens if he thinks he's handy with a soldering iron, and it no longer works. LOL

Try a custom user color of 3 Red and 1 Green. That's probably the closest it will get to amber. I know amber was one of the more difficult colors to pull off with our display. I have a mild Red/Green color blindness so it's hard for me to tell, but I know there has been some debate that our amber preset was leaning towards the greenish side.

Nah - if there ever was a problem we'll fix it for free. We'd rather fix a ScanGauge for free than have it end up in the trash. Many people buy ScanGauges because they see them in their friends vehicle, so we figure the more ScanGauges we keep out there on the road the more "my friend had one in his truck" sales we get. Plus it's just the right thing to do, especially if we tell someone they can try fixing it on their own. :)

Linear Logic Man, what about getting a code for the ambient air (outside) temp? 09+ have the temp sensor being fed through the AC amplifier and no Toyota Xguage codes that I have found work. I'd initially bought the SG as I thought that an air temp code could be found, but to no avail. Since the sensor feeds the overhead console temp guage (in models with the temp guage), we know the info is on the bus, unless somehow this sensor's data is being fed to the temp guage outside the bus. Any thoughts?

    We aim to please! :)

    Give this XGauge a shot:

    Ambient Air Temperature (Degrees F)
    TXD: 07E02146
RXF: 056106460000 (Also try 046105460000 if the first RXF doesn't work)
RXD: 3008 (or 2808 if you use the 046105460000 RXF)
    MTH: 00090005FFD8
    NAM: AIR

By the way, is there any way that I could get the firmware upgrade put on mine while it is there to be fixed? If not that's alright.

Sure - just PM me your name and info and I can get your unit upgraded while it's here.

Yea, that code will probably only apply to 05-09's. I'll see what I can do about getting Ambient Air Temp for 10+

Thanks a ton, Linear Logic and you other guys. I tow a lot of foothills and passes with my '06 Prerunner and 3500 lb travel trailer. I bought a ScanGauge because of these discussions, hoping the transmission temp reading would work on my rig. No problem. It worked immediately upon entering the code. The firmware is 4.06.

Wow...they seem to have finally put some newer upgrades on these units.

I've had mine for like....4 years and I remember e-mailing them back then about tranny temps. They're response as always - "We're working on it"

Oh well...... I haven't missed having that extra info. Not worth upgrading at this point.

If you tell me - there's Oil Pressure data, I might consider upgrading. :D

Thanks! I might look into that depending on 'time'. Been working shit-tons lately and just can't get any time for projects.

Tried these two codes people say work on Tundras or 1st generation tacomas, on my "05" I get strange results....

    Altitude Gauge (Feet)
    TXD: 07E02133
    RXF: 04610533
    RXD: 2808
    MTH: FEEE00016B08
    NAM: Alt

Gives me 274 all the time and doesn't seem to go up or down and this code...

    Atmospheric Pressure (PSI)
    TXD: 07E02133
    RXF: 04610533
    RXD: 2808
    MTH: 000A00450000
    NAM: PSI

This codes reads 14psi all day.

Any ideas if its possble for these to work for second generation tacomas?

Thanks again for helping us out....

I suspect that it is working correctly. The atmospheric pressure does not change much during the course of a day unless; you start changing elevations; or are driving through a warm/cold front.

Also note that the altitude gauge is nothing more then some math done on the atmospheric pressure reading. The PSI reading for that day will affect the altitude reading. I live in Houston and mine will read from +274 to 0 to -274 depending on the day. FYI, correct reading should be 50-100.

    So the code doesn't work?

It reads 14psi all the time.
