man i've tried to find out stuff like this but it seems no one has explored anything else with the SCII on our trucks.

 

yea i was thinking about sending them an e mail to see if i could get some more codes. wanted to know like oil temp and any other cool things the scangauge can do

 

i honestly don't think our trucks put out all that many more than what SG offers unfortunately

honestly just mph, mpg, motor temp, and... crap i can't remember the last one haha

 

whats your motor temp usualy at? mine is around 2oo seems kinda hot

if i'm wheeling i've seen it up around 210 but that's the hottest i can recall.

 

IMO the main advantage to choose the ScanGauge over the UltraGauge is the ability of the SG to read the auto trans fluid temps. Its especially nice when wheeling in the summer.

I typically have mine set for water temp, current MPGs, trans fluid temp and switch the 4th one between VDC and RPMs

 

how hot is everyones water temp? i have been driving on the free way and its been any where from 190 to 200, and what about tranny temps? it ranges from like 130 to 170? seems pretty crazy to me but i never had a sc to read out the temps

 

Once warmed up, my water temps are consistantly 202-204, rarely see drop below 200 or above 205. I presume that it has a 200* thermostat.

As for the trans fluid, it is interesting how much it goes up and down. Seems to be all about load. On the highway, level, no accel or decel it can be as low as 130 but it will go up quickly if I hit a grade. The highest I've seen is 235. That was off road, 4lo, long up hill section. But it goes down below 200 really quickly once I stop or level out.

In another thread, the discussion was external fluid coolers, someone said that the trans fluid overheat warning light is set by Toyota to go off above 250. I guess maintaining higher than 250 will start to degrade the fluid.

kind of an older thread, but thanks for posting up that code, 04trd! just plugged it into my SCII on my 04 Tacoma A/T and it works like a dream. i'll post back with my normal transmission temps once I get some stable readings.

my coolant temp is very consistent between 190-193. i've never seen it higher than 195 actually.

 

Good glad it worked for ya! And it seems like a lot of people get different readings. I'm doing 70 on the free way and it's at 203 and ATF is 134. Wonder if there are any more cool x gauge features

Crap lol. It was so long ago I don't remember. I know I have O2 sensors. And I set it for a couple of the trip gauges. But you can get those from the scangauge website and the booklet. I'll look through my scanguage and see what else wasn't mentioned. Now about this horsepower code, my horsepower that came on the SG is working fine. What does this other code do?

 

Highest I believe I saw on hp was 167? I thought that was about accurate seeing as how I have 164k miles. The engine wouldn't be making the rated power from the factory
