I have a 2011 Lexus is250 RWD that has a 2.5 V6. I have the need for another truck but cannot afford another. I happen to have a Lexus with 160,000 that is pretty sound. I am one deer or hog away from it not being usable. If I found a Tacoma with a blown motor would the Lexus 2.5 just drop in.

Probably would physically fit but there's much more to such a swap than just dropping in a different engine, you also need the ECM, transmission, associated wiring harnesses, figure out how to make the Tacoma and Lexus electronics get along, possibly custom driveshafts, and no telling what else.

Building something like that for a toy/project is one thing but for a daily driver just get the correct used/rebuilt/new engine, swap it and go.

I'd suggest you read through the threads below and then ask yourself if you are ready for the challenges and headaches involved in a swap because there will be many unforseen issues to sort out.

The is250 engine wasnt a very good engine due to its direct injection method. It's not a viable swap, it would be underpowered and you'd have to route its entire harness and computers.

Basically if you have to ask, its too much to do.
