The Arizona Department of Public Safety also identified the driver of the car as 51-year-old Marana resident Raymond Kane. He and his two passengers, 39-year-old Barbara Jean Scott and 30-year-old Jerry A. Carrasco, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The video, taken by a DPS photo radar enforcement van that had been stationed along Ajo Highway just east of Ryan Airfield, shows Kane’s black Saturn had crossed entirely over into eastbound traffic, striking the bus near the shoulder of the road.

The crash occurred at 6:13 a.m.Tuesday.

The school bus was transporting four students and two adults to Flowing Wells High School. No serious injuries were reported on the bus, though two students were taken to area hospitals for precautionary reasons, DPS said.

I was thinking the same thing. Suicide by bus maybe? Although, he had two passengers so I doubt it.

i think he was trying to hit the bus and take himself out. The other 2 in the car just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. IMO

But who knows, maybe he was texting, changing the radio station, or even fell asleep.

a lot of times when things like this happen...its a result of something else happening to the driver

at his age its possible he had a heart attack or stroke

WOW...VERY SAD...but I'm glad the kids are o.k....reminds me of last Thursday. I work here at the School Administration Bldg. and we lost a nine yr old girl and her father. He was driving and passed a stop sign and was brod-sided fatally killing both. Our principal had to go and identify her since the father was not carrying any I.d with him and DPS knew the little girl went to Avila Elementary since she was wearing a school uniform with the schools name on it. The Principal went to notify the mother who just broke down, not only loseing her husband but her only child.:(:(
Lesson in this obey ALL traffic signs. Not only do you save yourself but others as well. (The driver in the truck that had the right of way survived the impact but is still in the hospital and will not be charged.)
You all be safe out there!!!!

Very sad to hear they died, but bus vs. car= bus winning. I hope it wasn't something stupid like a cell phone, radio station, eyes off the road, that caused this wreck. Some of you are right, that it could also be a heart attack or something health related.

It's sad that a lot of people take cars for granted these days, you have more of a chance of dieing on the way to the airport vs. in a plane crash. That alone should tell you how important it is, to keep your eyes on the road!

The F-150 in front of the bus barely got out of the way in time. Sad to see something like this happen...especially for those who have kids
