I have stainless steel nerf bars now but am eyeing a pair of 4x Innovation sliders :spy:

I need to line up a welder first, then I think I'll bite the bullet and purchase them. I'd like to sell the steps first also.

I put my 885s/OME shocks on last night. I got 3.25" out of both sides with no spacers. Granted it will settle a bit. AAL on tap for tonight. I'm hoping I can get away without having to buy ucas too.

    Umm.... no

I'll just tell her to work on her high jump (and make sure I'm not within striking distance when I do).

Knowing my record with sales, I'll have the sliders long before the steps sell... I'm going on what, 8 - 9 months with those damn lights

man, im a few days ahead of you, probably like day 12 and I will tell you, save yourself the trouble and get the UCA. In the end most people want them and your tires will thank you. I have mine set at 1.75 and after a year i can see the tires starting to scallop a bit on one side because its not a perfect alignment. I just picked up eibach coils, 1.5 leaf, and ended up caving and buying some lightracing UCA

Thanks for the thread tip, Knight.

It's one of those - I know I should but I don't want to types of things. Probably will though.

as an update I think I'm going to go with:

    OME 885x coils
    OME Nitrochargers
    ICON Progressive 3 Leaf AAL
    Trim-Packer (No top plate spacer)
Carrier Bearing Drop (No Differential Drop)
    No UCAs...as of now.

Should achieve front and rear lift of 2.5" and 1.5"-2" respectively. May order the top plate spacer for the front incase I don't get 2.5"

Sounds like a pretty nice setup! I'd keep the carrier bearing drop out unless you feel you need it to cure vibrations. I bought one also and never ended up installing it. Also, something to consider though about holding off on the UCA's is the cost of alignment. With that setup, you will likely need UCA's. If you install without them, pay for the alignment, then figure out you need them, you're tearing things down again and paying for another alignment. The money spent on the first alignment would be 1/4 the cost of your new UCA's.

true - i'd like to see how much a liftime alignment costs compared to a one-time alignment. I have a feeling I might be aligning this truck 3-5 times throughout its life, lol.

Around here it's around $170 I believe. And trust me, you'll be aligning it more often than 3-5 times throughout it's life. I can't even count how many times mine has been on the alignment rack.

I went basically the same route on my '12 regular cab. I went with 884 springs and the add a leaf. The 884 springs gave me just under 3 inches on my regular cab. Be glad you went with the spring packs, I wish I did. A.A.L. are very stiff, front end is creamy smooth.

The Icon IS an AAL, not a replacement leaf pack. It just rides a LOT better than a typical AAL :D

Perfect. The conversation for me went something like this:

Girlfriend : Your truck is harder to get into. Is it higher than it used to be?

Me : Yes. When I replaced the tires I chose a larger size.

Girlfriend : God, I must be getting weak. Suddenly getting in here feels like an effort.

Me : (chuckling). Been skipping your calf raises at the gym?

Girlfriend : Gives me the look and changes the topic..

    ...end of story:D

You're brave... I'd never start anything that could lead to a car fight! Those are the worst, you're contained, close quarters. It's like being in a cage with a rabbid wolverine

good point. Though I am more likely dense than brave...:p . Overall she is actually a very secure woman, and because fitness is clearly not an issue for her the context of the conversation probably allowed for it. However, if it were, I like to think I would have not even entertained the thought of that comment...
