I am about to have wheels/tires installed on my stock suspension 22 TRD Sport. I have SCS Blaze10 17x8.5 -10 OS wheels and I am wondering if I will rub with 265/70/R17 General Grabbers. I will be removing the chin strap air dam and mud flaps. Will this be enough to eliminate the potential for rub? I do not wheel and will not wheel until I have a lift and other stuff, therefore I will be sticking to road use and occassional back roads.

I have looked around on the internet and it seems to be 50/50 between rubbing, or not. Any help from someone with a similar setup would be greatly appreciated.

You’ll be fine, A good wheel alignment can help if you do rub, but it will be minimal if any. Those wheels will look great!

It was a really tough choice as most people step up to the 265/70, but with the specs of the wheels...some people were fine after taking off the front air dam and mud flaps and others weren't. I didn't want to go down that road, so I went with the safe bet. I will more than likely lift the truck 2in in the future, so until then it looks really good to me and didnt spend a fortune.

@Discount Tire much appreciated! I must say, the general grabber AT/X are great tires. They balanced very well and ride pretty smooth with only very slight road noise. It lulls the kiddos to sleep. I think more people need to give that tire a go!

Could you post a pic of the setup? Currently wanting to do something like this with a 2-2.5 lift.
