Cheveron techron fuel cleaner? After reading many seafoam threads I decided to give it a try. I put some in my vac line, crank case, gas tank. I definitely noticed a + difference in idle and throttle response after I seafoamed the vac line. I have never seen a toyota engine idle as quiet as mine did 30 min after using seafoam and that was with a very gunky TB , MAF, and 80k on my worn out plugs and wires. Im going to drive another 100 miles before replacing my engine oil and fuel filter.

I heard Techron is pretty good stuff but I have always used Gumout with Regane, complete fuel system cleaner ($9-$10) at every oil change as a maintainer/preventative measure.

I would definitely do a good seafoam treatment as a deep cleaning, you'll notice the difference right away.

Seafoam isnt good for your o2 sensors and isnt good for engines that have underlying issues. If you are going to use it then follow all of the instructions including changing the oil after and possibly changing the fuel filter.

They're both good products. Techron can be used more regularly as a fuel system treatment. Seafoam can be used in the fuel system, crankcase, and vacuum lines. In light of reported O2 sensor and/or catalytic converter impacts, I use it less frequently, and exactly as prescribed.
I aspirated it into the brake booster line.

I personally use B12 chemtool, if I'm looking for a serious system cleaning.

The napalm mixture called "B12 chemtool", makes seafoam look like milk...

If I want a fuel additive, I use redline SI-1, as it actually contains PEA. (The reason people originally liked techron...)(it doesn't anymore, btw)

Sea foam has a written statement on their pints that says safe for O2 sensors.

If it is so safe, then why all of the writeups on the web about o2 sensors going out after seafoam use?

B12 and seafoam are way overkill for any vehicle that doesnt have serious issues (such as running shit oil for forever and never changing it, never changing spark plugs, running poor quality gasoline, there are a lot of better methods and products out there....you wouldn't wash your car with acetone when there are much more gentle and high quality shampoo/conditioners for it, so why dump something thats way too aggressive into you engine?

bg moa and cf5 every oil change...cf5 goes in the tank and moa goes in the oil. they also make 44k which is a great in tank injector cleaner...also if i run synthetic the only oil i would use is bg as it exceeds european standards (better than us oil standards)

Not saying it can't happen, just saying what it says on the bottle, and I have never had it happen to me.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I use Techron (in my gas) twice a year as a maintenance item. Never had a need to do anything else. Truck runs fine and I've been using Mobile 1 since new.

OME 886x and 5100's all the way around. Toytec AAL. Phillips x-treme vision headlights. 886 reverse lights. Borla exhaust. 20% tint. Hi 6 mod. 285/65/18 Nitto TG on 18" Moto Metal 955's. Airaid intake. Scanguage2.JBA LT's.GC Grill..more to come.
Been using Seafoam for years on hundreds of cars without a single O2 sensor issue...or any issue at that. Very safe and simple to use. There is way harsher products out there that work better but you have to use it in moderation... OMC Engine Tuner for example...very harsh on carbon build up. Works great but will take skin off.

IMG_3178.jpg Saw this at costco today. 6 pack for 12$. Engine runs great but just wondering if it would benefit from throwing 1 in every couple of months especially for a little over 2$'s a pop. Or leave it alone at 50k with no problems yet. Thoughts?

I should probably be a Seafoam rep at this point. Seafoam says it's safe to use with o2's, but I would test the limits. I'm just about to do a full clean, maybe a little overkill but I'm going to test if using the spray and pour versions will help in separate ways or do the exact same thing. My AutoZone has pour seafoam on sale for $6.99. Seafoam spray is used after the maf at the throttle body, seafoam pour is used in a vacuum tube, preferrably on a Tacoma, you should disconnect the vacuum tube from the brake booster and pour slowly. Always have someone help by keeping rpms at like 1500 don't quote me but I believe your suppose to pour faster as you get to the bottom of the bottle to choke the engine and create a hot soak in the cylinders. Let it sit for 15-30 min and start her up again revving hard but not too hard to burn off carbon and create the famous white smoke. If you plan on changing your oil, pour an ounce of seafoam per qt of oil into the oil fill tube and drive at least 200 miles I believe. Some people have reported only driving like 10 miles and the oil already gets significantly darker in color. Change the oil there after. It can also be put in the fuel tank too so that it is used everywhere through the drive train to help eliminate carbon deposits. Use seafoam transtune for transmission and power steering. Pouring it in power steering will essentially do the same thing as regular seafoam does to engine oil so use it before you plan on changing PS fluid. I don't believe it is just "snake oil" as some have stated.
