Hmm, yeah. The 170's are only 10mm larger than the Hella's...

I'd do the 240s. Or three 170s if they fit.

Another thing to consider is your state's law on aftermarket spotlights. Washington only allows 2. That only played a very very small role in my decision for two LF240s, but it was reassuring to know it's just one less mod that I can be bugged about

Well it'd be 5 with the d2s haha. Yeah I probably won't do big spots for a while anyway. I'm loving the LED stuff at the moment.

Oh haha. I don't think we have a law on that. Or at least no one follows it. So many trucks with 4 240s on them. I saw an 18 wheeler with 6 on top of his cab and 4 on his bumper. And then one other smaller spot on each side mirror :O

Hmm, the only laws I've heard of is on whether or not you can have them on while driving.

I'm going all LED except for those 2 HID's so that I have some distance.

Like I said, it didn't play a huge role in my decision, just a nice thing to know-- since ya know, some cops can be dicks.

Yeah I want HID's but didn't wanna pay $200 more for the HID LF240's so I'll do the conversion from the link here on TW and practice with my LF240 spotlight first so I don't mess up on the important ones

    http://www.wsp.wa.gov/traveler/passequip.htm

Look under "Vehicle Lights" and then Spot lamps-- they specify only 2. I don't think the d2s would count

LEDs are without a doubt, awesome

You guys are making me want to buy a bumper so bad, but I really should get new leafs and want to redo my suspension first...

Yeah, but there's a lot of stuff going on with the government shutdown that is causing me to have to pay for the $65 a night room I have to stay in. I'll get payed back for it eventually though...

I'm just trying to make myself stick with my plan... Haha

Oh shit I didn't know they were making you do that.
    Ha keyword, eventually

Suspension is gonna cost you a pretty penny too. Probably about the same as a bumper actually, maybe a few hundo more

EDIT: wait what's wrong with your suspension? New leaf pack I'm guessing and shocks all around?

    Yeah, eventually... Haha

Full mid-travel will run at least $3300....

Nothing wrong with it, I just want to get new leafs so I can carry an RTT in the future. I'll eventually get Icon resies all around as well.

I'm going to try to do leafs, bed rack, and RTT this winter. Then throughout next year redo the suspension. Then hopefully next Winter I can get bumpers.

I don't know, I'll be doing more research as it gets closer to make a purchase.

Ah yeah I'm probably just gonna stick with my current set up. I feel it'll keep me satisfied for at least the next 100,000 miles. What leafs are you thinking of going with?

That's a good option too. I was just sold on 240s once I bought & saw what LightForce's 240 spotlight did

I haven't seen Hellas but like I said, my 240 spotlight won me over in a hurry and throughout my prolonged use of it this past spring on the Palouse & down in the hills by the Snake River

Well stay tuned, as soon as I figure out what to order I'll spend a little dough and convert my 240s to HID bulbs
