Yeah he took over a month to reply to my inquery about the DIY kit...I replied and it took him 2 weeks to answer any further questions and said to give him "a couple months" of lead time to prepare my bumper... I replied back thinking he may have mistakenly thought I was wanting a full bumper with the delay in his replies... but the more research I find... I think he was fully aware...

oh well... I'd rather have an ugly bumper than one that reminds me about a shitty experience every time I looked at the truck.

    Probably a Duck fan:rolleyes:

That is definitely true, he works full time & often times late into the evening so building bumpers is what I would presume to be a side job of his. 2 months? I would have died and gone to heaven for that-- I'm going on 7 months strong as of now.

Yeah, and you would get just that if customer service is big in your eyes (as it is mine)-- especially if you're forking over half a grand or $1,025 (wonder where I got that number...) beforehand and then you have to sit around for numerous months waiting.

Haha god I miss the college days! So simple

I tell myself when I see the group buy and associated pricing that I paid for an expedited build. :)

As much as I want to disagree with you I'll refrain. From what I understand his customer service is lacking, and people shouldn't have to cut him slack for being disappointed. Now, with that being said, I sure as hell hope everyone that orders from him knows what to expect. And this is slow replies and at least a half a year lead time (with a certain amount of uncertainty).

And I do agree, he has the best looking front bumper. My Apex doesn't look nearly as good, but hey, I paid $550 for it in the group buy, it has the exact same function, and I got it in 2 weeks! That to me is way more valuable than looking cool.

I wasn't in the group buy, so where's my full price expedited build :pout:

    The bolded part, YES.
    Customer service, sucks ass.
    Product, amazing.

Beforehand I knew that his customer service was subpar, and knowing that I still went ahead with the purchase because I knew that his product was in fact the best on the market (although I didn't know how lacking the customer service really was until experiencing it first hand).

I wouldn't be so upset about the whole process if he would have just been straight up and told you that the estimated time of completion is 6-9 months and also if he was honest throughout the whole process with updates and time of completion instead of jerking you around. Especially given my scenario where I needed it done while I was away at boot camp, and by the very least during my 10 days of leave, but I won't even get that.

    Eh..Tim doesn't do it for a living.

He works as like a radiologist or something in a hospital and pulls 80 hour weeks usually.

    His work is worth it.

Wow didn't know it was a side operation... Makes sense in the lead time and delay in response... But not in what coug's gone through... I'm sure had Tim been in contact with him... His expectations and experience would have been MUCH better.

Personally I'm a very patient and understanding person... But just want to be kept in the loop... Nothing worse for me than to be kept on the dark after I've paid my money $.02

Like Monte said, he works in a Cardiac Cath Lab at a hospital pulling mass hours/week and yes his work is THE BEST. All I'm saying is that the communication/customer service aspect of Elite Offroad left a very sour taste in my mouth. If it is going to be better in your experience than it was in mine then it should be an ideal business transaction w/ none-very little hiccups

Yeah a build is a good way to track when/what you've done to your truck & also future mods you want to do... plus showing it off is always nice
