3.75 backspacing? That's the exact setup I'm looking to do.

Yeah I told a buddy of mine who recommended these for an All Terrain tire, that I was sooooo glad I didn't go with the BFG A/Ts.
These are much more aggressive looking, hopefully don't turn into racing slicks in the mud & are surprisingly quiet.

On a side note, when driving around town on my way home (took the long way home :D) I did not notice a significant power loss like I thought I would with these 285s. I really had to pay attention to notice that it didn't have as much giddy up.

Just a thought for anyone considering this size of tire like I was before I made the leap..

Thanks man! Yeah it was stupid easy, the trim and brackets match up perfectly. Plug & play. I found mine on eBay, junkyards around here rarely have Tacomas let alone 2001-2004 models... and even if you find one a.) the owner took the center console out or b.) someone has likely beat you to it

Dude! Looks awesome. Definitely the correct tire size for your truck / lift combo.

Looking at your truck makes me wish I didn't have fender flares though, that offset looks killer. You're gonna sling mud & water like crazy when it rains lol.

I think so, when I first saw the tires in the shop next to my truck I was like

Take your flares off... that's what I did. I still need to wash/wax & paint a few spots that my flares were hiding so we'll see if they stay off. I didn't think 0.5" would make that big of a difference. Yeah these Seattle prius/smart car drivers are gonna really love me

Oh and yeah I'm gonna really go apeshit when my Elite Bumper arrives & I can mount my Rigid D2s and LightForce 240s

Oh ok. You're lifted higher in the front I think though. I think I'd have to go with 3.75 to prevent some rub. I'd like to sling up less rocks though :/

*defeated sigh* you pre 01 guys have it so easy, remove a couple bolts and take the fenders off.

Unfortunately the 01-04 Tacomas have holes in the fenders for the little clips that hold the flares on. So if I take them off I'm left with this awesome look:

    492046-flares2_2e543402e3ebe287e03a01baf3fda96eb24e2d96.jpg

That will net you more rubbing in the pinch weld area FYI. 4" of BS seems to be the ideal number for 285's. Now if you want to run 33x12.50 tires then 3.75" seems to be the magic number. I run 4.5" of BS with 285's, 881s, 10mm spacer and do not rub on the pinch. I rub on the frame

    Yeah I am. It's a 3" coil but I'm getting closer to 3.5".
    3.75" backspacing would be perfect.
So far that I can tell, I don't rub at all even when full locked. I did cut my pinch weld off so that might've helped.

Alignment all said and done earlier, now I don't have to turn slightly right to drive straight :D

Now time to wash & wax out the fender flare marks so I can see if they can stay off

I drove by that LS today around 10:30am and then again around 11:00am. For how close we live to each other it surprises me we haven't passed each other.

I need to get an alignment, the shop I usually go to is downtown. How was your experience with the guys at LS, recommend?
