    Hey All,

Been lusting for a new 2018 for the last few months... reading this forum a lot, test driving, asking questions and learning a lot. I finally am about to pull the trigger on a TRD sport and then BAM. Searching for reviews, it either got "ok" or good marks by edmunds, MT or C&D. But then I read the Consumer Reports article and its on the top 10 worst cars to buy. Thought I read it wrong.

Now, am I being dumb for second guessing buying one? A few other articles seemed to point it out as a worst buy as well. A Tacoma? Never would have thought. I'm now discouraged as one of the biggest reasons (asides from a cool hobby and new mods) is reliability and something that will last.

Dude seriously? One article and you're going to throw in the towel?

Consumer reports is a bunch of shit. Bunch of soccer moms.

Consumer Reports is notorious for giving bad marks to vehicles that aren't hybrid sedans. They're not a group I trust for anything automobile related.

Relax you will be fine, I think Consumer Reports has some kind of funky way of calculating scores as they complain about the ride being rough.

Not at all! Just second thoughts as I'm looking to keep this thing for a while. More opening up discussion if anyone knows why exactly it even made it on the list.

Are there any GOOD reviews on it that counter balance it? I know CR can be swayed by $$, but its also usually a somewhat trusted publication.. maybe just not with automobiles?

DO IT! I bought a 2018 cement DCSB OR manual. I read the reviews all the same and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Those reports love bashing on the leading trucks. Gets more views that way.

Just read some of CR's rating. Poor handling, loud cabin, hard to get into.

The same people reviewing cars also review laundry detergent. They could say driving this truck will give you Hep C and I'd still take my chances.

I just purchase a 18 Tacoma TRD sport almost a month ago...Love everything about it. There is a reason it has the best resale value!

It could be anything... It like movies. Critics will say a movie sucks, but then have 5 stars cause audience loved it. CR is probably hating on the atkinson cycle engine since its somewhat odd.

    Oh and what he said^

Best selling Midsize truck ever for a reason. I did not test drive my DCSB 4x4 OR MT6 and no regrets. Find another Midsize that's better, I think not. Sure there maybe some who have had issues but that's not the norm. I bet if you bought 100 pairs of the same shoe one of them may give you a blister but that's only 1%…Go For It $.02
