    Need opinions:
Can a Tacoma double cab long bed 4x4 can make it on the trail?

What would I need to be able to make it?

I usually can make things work but never been out west. My friends and I are coming from North of Atlanta, GA.

Broken Arrow was one of my favorite trails when I was going to school in NoAZ. I fit my 97 Grand Cherokee on the trail and my friends 2WD Xterra made it through most of the trail with out need to get pulled out. Great views and you can make the trail harder or easier depending on the trail you take. Here are some pictures:

These are fun...but can be slick!

Yea I saw those on a video. All that looks fun. Doesn't look too crazy at all. So if some people do it in 2wd I think we should be fine. Those views look amazing.

If you stay on the normal trail your Taco will make it just fine. The first hump going in is to test your ground clearance and if you get over that you are good to go. There are some side rocks you can go on to make it tougher if you would like to push the limits. The views are awesome and one of my favorite trails in the area.

I would be up for that, but I don't live in AZ anymore. Used to live up in Northern Arizona a few years ago, but have since moved Colorado. If all else fails follow the Pink Jeeps, they are the only company that can do tours on that trail.

Broken Arrow is good, so is the Outlaw Trail/Indian Ruins. Schnebly Hill road is super easy, but gives you the best views in Sedona (in my opinion). Also, there is an offshoot on Schnebly Hill (153A?) that is a bit more difficult but has the best camp sites in Sedona (again, in my opinion). FYI, Schnebly Hill road goes all the way to I-17, so you don't have to come in to Sedona on 89A if you don't want to. 89A is usually a solid stream of cars in my experience, although it is some great scenery.

If you're over in Sedona, take a half a day to head out west and check out Jerome - it is a cool old mining town that has some restaurants and art galleries and bars and whatnot. There is a trail that starts in Cottonwood (Mingus Mountain?) that loops all the way west around Jerome and you can come in to Jerome from the west on 89A which is a really pretty drive.

Also, if you're coming on I-40 take time to stop at the petrified forest and the meteor crater if you can fit it in.

I may be able to work something out on Wednesday I'll look into it. Are you coming up on i10 or i40?

We are taking I-40 and will stop at both of those places either coming or going. Thank you for informing on some cool stuff. We are going to hit up some mountain biking too. On the way back are planning on stopping in Albuquerque NM.

There's hundreds of miles of single track in sedona. I've never been but biking should be awesome if not a little warm. It's a 3 hour drive from here so I'm optimistic that I could make it out there for a day or two.

Too bad time wont allow for all hundreds of miles to be crossed. I have to remember to remind my friend to bring his go pro. Although, I am not a fan of the hey watch this stuff.

Nice. Are you camping out there? How extreme of riding do you do? I mostly do xc and some technical stuff here and there. If you head further south at all south I know of plenty of sweet trails (mtb and 4x4) in southern AZ.

We will have our camping gear with us. Although, right now we rented a place in Sedona.

As far as Riding I go to Blankets Creek or Old Rope mill in Woodstock, Ga. I would consider these probably more XC trails. I have done Bull mountain in North Ga and that I would think would be more on the side of all mountain.

I will look forward to your pictures. Sedona is an awesome town, make sure you drive Oak Creek Canyon from Sedona to Flagstaff as well, pretty drive. If you want a good sunset dirt road to go to, drive Schnebly hill road, it is right up the street from Broken Arrow. A 2wd can make it up that road but has amazing sights, especially around sunset.
