This doesnt exactly pertain to the 265/75/16 tire size being discussed but I was very concerned about tire/wheel weight as well.

I went from 265/75/16 BFG KO2 to 255/80/17 (true 33" tire) Toyo ATIII.

    Mounted on TRD 4runner wheels.

I did not have any change in MPG surprisingly

The reduced width with a tiny increase in weight seemed to balance out.

I also think the taller tire reduced the overall drive ratio which reduced RPMs on the freeway.

This thread has helped me a ton in my research but as a relative tire newbie I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I have a 2-3" lifted taco and aiming to have 33s. Im pretty set of getting some Analog HD Classic white rims, would love to get 16" but tire options get limited in this range so I opted to go for the 17". My taco is still used as a daily as well as mild off roading and touring so performance and mpg is still important to me. Im thinking of getting BFG AT KO2 C in 255/75/17, not a true 33 but close (still an upgrade to stock) and relatively light based on some other options at discount tire.

    So overall breakdown would be
    Analog HD 27.5lb/ea + BFG AT KO2 C1 45.5 lb/ea = 73 lb total

Some other tires I was looking at are Falken and Toyo but was mainly running into E class tires. Thoughts?

I’d run exactly what you mentioned!

Unless you need the C rating check out the Duratrac in that size. They have an SL option listed at 43 pounds each.

I run that tire but on a heavy steel wheel. Eventually I’ll get some lighter ones.

So I wanted to get the 4Runner TRD pro wheels and I don’t really off road too much, mainly street driving and also driving in the snow which gets kind of bad in my area, what tires would be recommended considering your analysis of everything?
