    Is it possible to keep the doors unlocked with the alarm on so when the neighborhood car burglar opens the door the alarm goes off?

    I agree with the above. Keep valuables in the house and just lock the truck. Chances are you archieve your goal but the alarm doesn't wake you and they still take all your shit. Joke would be on you.

    Guys, do not jump to conclusions. I have my truck locked and in my garage. What is happening in the neighborhood is that a guy is breaking into cars, the car alarms are not going off, so he keeps doing it. He probably knows not to open the door? If the alarm was to go off than the guy might stop doing it. btw, I now live in Texas, so if he did it to me I would shoot him...the joke would be on him. Man, you guys should drive Kia's.

    False. Car alarms don't necessarily stop theives, especially experienced ones. It will just encouragethem to do further damage to your vehicle.

    No one pays attention to car alarms anymore. Everyone is just conditioned to thing its just randomly going off.

    A guy in the area did something similar. Left his garage unlocked for the neighborhood thief. Bragged he was going to kill the thief. Shot and killed a teenager who had been stealing low value items in the area. Didn't work out well for either of them.

    I usually leave my jeep door unlocked because theres nothing valuable in that Shitbox. I'd rather someone open the door and find nothing of value rather than break a window or something and I have to pay to replace it.
