Shackle for front tow hook

    3/4" pin, as referenced above.

    Or better yet, the BPfab setup also referenced above that incorporates the third bolt and larger shackle.

    Your factory hook is adequate to pull a free truck from, but as soon as you get resistance (stuck in mud)... don't use it! Its attached to your radiator support (I think). You don't want to tweak that structure.

    I'd recommend the ARB recovery point, or a steel bumper that connects to the frame.

    Yea, I've been under there and had a look at the situation. Factory hook attaches to what I'd call subframe. It's a lot more than a radiator support, and a lot less than anything I'd want to yank on. Manual says it can be used to tow over "short distances on level ground", and I'd tend to agree.

    Steel bumpers are not in my future, but the I've had my eye on the ARB recovery point since jumpstreet.
