Yesterday I went to Lowe's and purchased 128 12x12 red pavers for a extension to my back patio.

I pulled my truck up to the pick up area at Lowe's and here came the fork lift. Two guys loaded the pavers into my Taco and boy did she ever do great. I was so impressed with the way she handled coming back home.. which was about 5 miles or so.

If my calculations are correct there should have been about 850lbs loaded in my truck bed. I was really really excited that she did such an awesome job.

Just wanted to let everyone else know how well she performed!

Is the limit really 500 lbs? Hell I didn't even know that... thought it was close to a 1000lbs.. hahaha.. guess I stretched her out a little bit!

But she did fine, didn't even hear her make a sounds. Oh well.. I'll remember that next time..

The stated limit to the bed is somewhere around 1300 lbs.

The door sticker actually says for my '07 V6 Access Cab PreRunner: Passengers and load not to exceed 1300 lbs., even though the 2007 Toyota Tacoma brochure says that my truck's load is rated for 1475 lbs !!!

My 4inch skyjacker lift kit adds an extra leaf spring to the rear which I'm sure adds another 500lb capacity, This truck really impressed me last winter. Before i added my lift kit I hauled a bed full of fire wood and towed a trailer full of firewood at the same time and the truck never flinched. I have owned older Toyota trucks a 94 pick up and a 2000 Tacoma extend a cab and every time i loaded those trucks you could feel the impact of the weight... but not with my 06 Tacoma double cab trd...it takes everything i throw at it...and comes back for more. I still say this is no compact truck, its an intermediate falling in between full size and compact sizes....

I've had literally 2,000lbs in the bed of my X-runner with no problem at all :)

My little 1991 Toyota Pickup has had 2600+ pounds in it at 5 different occasions ;when we were constructing my pool. No problems at all except for much longer distance to stop....and I was worried the little 195 tires would POP!

Where the heck did I get 500lbs from??!?! 1300 sounds so much better. Now I am not worried about putting a quad back there or anything.

    :D
