My wife needs new tires for her 4Runner. I want bigger tires for my Tacoma. Hmmm....how can I make this a win win situation?? My truck tires are same size as the 4Runner tires (265/70/16). They only have 8000 miles and are like new. I bet you can see where this is going. My wife was sitting in the living room and we were watching TV and I said "Hey I want to run something by you and you tell me what you think". We have been married for 18 years and she knows when I say something like that she knows I'm up to something and that something usually benefits me and not her. I told her you "need" tires and I "want" bigger tires. How about I put my tires on your 4Runner and I buy bigger tires for my truck? She looks at me like I'm scamming her. A friend of mine stops by just then and I tell him the same thing. He agrees with me and says that seems like a no brainer and everybody really does win. In the end, my wife said she doesn't give a rats ass and do whatever you want. Marriage......it's a funny game. Hope you enjoyed the story.

Tell her you are just tryin' to go green. RECYCLING!!

I trust threw something similar like that at my dad. I dropped him at sams club to rotate the tires on his big gmc 3500 and I said, "Did you see the tires I am going to put on my truck next time?" I was pointing to the 285 75 16 BFG AT. He says, "Yeah. Sure. They are only 241 dollars a piece." I will have to continue to work on that one.

Nice...I think the day I realized I had the one was when we were offroading and completely unprompted she goes "I think more ground clearance would make this better" No need to work them over if they just give it up like that!!
