Since when does Toyota not used factory parts? So if it breaks again they wont warranty it?

I'm not sure if this is in response to me or one of the other conversations in the thread, but I definitely think it was originally a toyota part. The dealer has offered to cut me a deal on a $676 aftermarket CV to save me some money though /s.

As in, a Toyota Safety Sense camera. Damn, you’re quick to make assumptions. I’d hate to be in a fox hole with you!

You do have a right to a timely answer. I would step up the rate that you are contacting Toyota and the dealership. Remain calm and professional at all times and treat them like they are trying to help you, even if you really feel they are not. Be logical in your questioning. I just can't see how a rational person can think that this has been caused by external forces on the CV joint. There would be so much more damage to the surrounding area then the few light scratches you show on the bottom of your truck. Keep politely pestering them. I may be naive, but I still think they might rule in your favor and cover it via warranty. What I cannot believe is that the dealership is suggesting that they will repair your truck with aftermarket parts while it is still under bumper to bumper warranty.

I did this when they were diddling around waiting on parts for the diff recall and it got shit moving QUICK.
Tell em the situation and a little razzle dazzle about your disappointment and how you may not recommend Toyota if they don't extract their heads from asses.

Yeah today is the day that I am going to try to make stuff happen for sure. It has definitely gotten out of hand at this point. I really appreciate the email address. I will try my luck with that today after speaking with the claim manager

All assistance has been denied...no tow back home, no warranty, no relief on the absurd prices and labor I was quoted. She said it was already denied at the regional level, and therefore there was nothing she could do and nobody I could talk to. Probably BS, but I don't know what else to do at this point.

That blows. Hopefully you can get it fixed soon or somehow someway get help from a member who’s willing to pay it forward.

Somebody denied it at the regional level. Ask to speak to them personally.

Tow it to your house and do it yourself. You don't need any special tools. It takes 30 minutes. There's YouTube videos on 2nd gen CV replacement. They are the exact same part and procedure.

I bet the truck won't move because the drums froze.
