Well, if all goes as planned 4Runner 2.0 will be gone and Tacoma 1.0 will be in the driveway. I'm already praying I don't regret the decision to put her up for adoption. The best vehicle I've ever owned. She is a V8 4x4 with 250k. Drove like she had 25k. It was killing me in gas.
4Runner guys always say there isn't much difference from the v8 to the v6. Not true. We have both. I'm getting 275 a tank and her's gets close to 400 miles. As much as I love the v8, it's sucking me dry. I'm hoping to save more by not having to use the trailer every weekend when we go dirt biking.
We ride mtn bikes and race dirt bikes so I'll be looking for mods that are well suited for our hobbies. We have 1200 acres we ride on and like to target shoot when we're done riding.
The Tacoma is a completely stock 2006 TRD off-road pre runner that is pretty clean with 120k.
She is not thrilled about me starting all over, but knows it's coming.
I kept my awning and room so may try and integrate those until I decide about a RTT, unless she tries to hijack the awning.
I'm an auto tech with 30 years experience with everything from hotrods to drag racing to round track and kart racing under my belt.
Hoping to learn a lot here.
    Thanks!
    David

May i ask why the switch from 4x4 to prerunner? Seems like you spend some time off road so just wondering.

Welcome btw, i need to get one of those shirts.

Basically I wanted 4x4, but was in a time crunch. The ones I've found locally were over my budget for a 2nd gen. Since we've had good luck out of her 4.0, I wanted to stick with that. I don't do a lot of heavy off roading. The e locker should get me by for now.
I'm hoping I can build this one up and possibly keep upgrading.
I actually didn't come out too bad on the 4Runner.
This Tacoma was one of the nicest 2nd gens within 150 miles for my budget.
The Tacoma is selling higher than the 4Runner around here.
Sometimes you don't pick the vehicle, it picks you.....

Welcome! Nice looking 4Runner! You should put up some pics of your new Tacoma. And that shirt is very appropriate for this site!
