I am curious to see how others have modified the chrome colored cap on the shift boot when they have changed out the factory shifter knob.

If it was not pitted I think it would look fine, but with the pits it looks out of place with the TRD shift knob.

Trying to get some ideas of how to mod it this weekend.

Also curious. I just installed the TRD knob and looking to do something to hide the chrome. I thought I might try to take a black cap of of some kind of jug or container and drill a hole and slid it down on the shaft with some double stick tape to hide the chrome. I have also seen guys stick a rubber washer down on the shaft to hide the pits which is a good idea too. Maybe some carefully applied black paint and black rubber washer should dress it up...

People have put small black rubber washers and they seemed to look fine. I am thinking that with a dab of adhesive you would be set. That, or some sort of cap as mentioned would be the best. I am going to look into the beer cap idea, I wouldn't personally do it, but there are plenty of people who might like the idea
