I believe you're right. I recall being told that same thing by many members AFTER I posted about the leak/warranty issue.

    :annoyed:

    Yeah.
Don't they make a 5160 for the rear that is extended?

that's one reason I opted for the 4600's, im not going to lift my truck, but the consensus was that the 5100.s set a 0 lift with the rears would be a better option performance/long term option, but with the stories of 5100s rear leaking I chose the 4600,s never had a leak front/back over 5 sets on my trucks

My front 5100's set at .85" (just to level the rake a bit) have been fine. I've not heard of the fronts leaking like the rears.

the fronts on my 4600's are Made in Germany, the rears are USA made, could be German engineering on those fronts.

I’ll probably replace the shocks in the summer, might as well get rid of the OEM leaf pack with AAL and 1” blocks.

One of my stock Bilstein rear shocks blew at 39,000km or so. I want to switch shocks some time this year if I can.

those stock BILSTEIN yellow shocks are thinner cheaper types than the aftermarket Billies, they go out really fast

So what do you guys recommend for a 2-3” of lift for the rear, leaf packs/shocks? I know I’ll have to buy extended brake lines. My trucks bed is 99% of the time empty and don’t plan on putting a topper or or anything like that.

Have to save up the pennies lol!

Yeah I've definitely heard that... Can't wait to get rid of 'em. Not sure which route I want to go but I'm thinking Fox level 4 or OME BP51s. I'm more worried about OME's on road ride quality but I'm able to test drive a vehicle with that set up.

if your not lifting the truck I'd recommend the Bilstein 4600's for all around use and longevity they can take a beating and never leaked on all my trucks, ever

Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
I have gone through 2 sets of rear 5100s. No off roading. First set was with no lift. The second set I had a 1 inch lift. Both sets leaked. Then I when with the 4600 and they started to leak so I went to the OME. No leaks with them. I bought a new set of 5100s again because I liked the ferm ride of the 5100s and wanted to give them another chance. After a few thousand miles noticed a slight leak on passenger side. Not bad just a slight drip running down just pasted the zip type on the boot. Been keeping an eye on it. If they get any wears I will go back to the OME and not look back.
