Shock Sensor, alarm

Is there anyway to turn down the sensitivity for the shock alarm, as everytime there is lightning, it goes off, without fail.

 

Aftermarket? If so, there is usually an adjustment screw that can shorten/tighten up the spring and make it less sensitive. Depends on the type.

 

I believe it is OEM, It has the toyota remote, and The only paperwork I have on it is the sales brochure from the previous owner from when he got it from the dealer I assume.

 

Not that long ago there was a thread on here that talked about a similar type of situation.

The discussion was about the difference between dealer and/or port installed options and factory installed options. Apparently, it is possible for the dealer or port to install something that was never available as an order-able option from the factory.

I am fairly certain that your shock alarm was never a stock item available as a factory install. It could very well have a toyota emblem on it and still be something the local dealer installed. Whether this defines it as "aftermarket" is another discussion altogether.
