So due to health issues my truck (04) has been parked for about 6 months most of that time was winter time. Now I have a shock that seems to have decided to leak pretty bad to the point where it needs replacement. It's an aftermarket coilover from a vendor here and I understand it's only got a year warranty that already passed. But here was his explanation

"the seals inside have to be run somewhat frequently to keep in working condition which is im guessing why its leaking since it has sat through the winter"

So because it sat during winter it basically went bad? Any one had this happen to a project vehicle that just sat there? Or is it just coincidence.
Now I'm debating on paying for a replacement or going another brand.
    Any input would be appreciated

Normal, they're not meant to sit for months and months.

    Hope you're on the mend.

    Savage! lol

    OP...What Coilovers do you have?

It does happen but it's an inexpensive fix to have them rebuilt.

    Stuff and junk and things...

PM me more info, I can rebuild them for you. I probably have kits in stock if it's a common shock.
