Shopify Use Them with Caution....Fraudulent Sports Store

Well I was going to post this in product reviews, but this is not a product.

My advise is do not use Shopify for anything or do your own due diligence.

We were burned $50 for a small item (sports jersey) that we never received. https://tiquilaz.myshopify.com (check and verify the sites ending wiht myshopify, the haven't purchased a domain and may only be set up for a short time.)

Tried contacting Shopify, that's useless nobody answers. Charged back the $50 with my credit card. Then the online store charged my card again for another $50. I had to cancel the card and charge back the $50 again.

Research the vendor specifically outside TW

Yep that's why drop shipping using shopify and oberlo has been blowing up. You can do whatever you want and sell pos china remakes while charging premiums to poor unsuspecting consumers.

 

You realize that this isn't a Shopify exclusive problem, right? Anyone can set up a "fake" store on Squarespace or any other combination of cheap web hosting with a Paypal link or other and scam you.

 

I'm well aware of how it all works, exclusive or non exclusive customers should be made aware of a scam.

At least on eBay and other sites you can leave a negative review for a store or person and or report them for a scam.

There's no place anywhere you can report a fraudulent store to Shopify. Nor, can you even leave a review for an item that you may not have received.

Just letting people know on here and a few other boards that I go to.

 

Shopify is a store front service. Not clear what this has to do with Shopify?? They are just a CMS to launch a store. Goes without saying, do your research on a merchant before you make a purchase. @mesojdm uses shopify... better stop buying from him.

 

I work with a bunch of people that use shopify and they are def legit. There is always going to be the bad seed out there that screws you. As some folks mentioned this could storefront company that people use. Bummer it never came. Did you charge back on your Credit Card? They should protect you for stuff like this. I have had it happen with storefronts, ebay, etc and the Credit card company always credited me.

 

Shopify can suck a big fat bag of hairy dicks.

As for the well know vendor you mentioned, customers can order directly from his site.

 

That is his site. It’s hosted on Shopify. It would be like blaming AWS for billing issues with Netflix. Get a clue before you go posting on forums sounding like an idiot.

 

Don’t drag him into this it has nothing to do with him.

The place I went to was to buy a jersey directly through Shopify. Read my info on trying to contact them after the company disappeared.

Half the patch community uses Shopify. Like said earlier this isn't a Shopify issue it's a shitty vendor (scammer) problem.

Just my two cents here.. I've been operating my business through Shopify for 4 years now. I see where you're coming from, you should be angry at the vendor that screwed you. Bashing shopify isn't hurting that vendor at all. It's hurting people like @mesojdm, @orezona @Bennett707, @WildLand , and myself. Anyone can go to Squarespace, Big cartel, ebay, any online retail storefront service and screw people. Shopify does NOT have a store front of their own. They are simply a host to run a storefront. It allows for us to build a website that looks very professional, at a good price and maintain it easily.

I'd also like to add that Shopify does not cover ANYONE financially. We as sellers are 100% on our own. Shopify is not like PayPal. They provide us a storefront and that is simply it.
