Short bed converted to Long bed????

OK,
I love my truck but the bed at times is too short. Is it possible or stupid to think this can be done? I guess if the wheelbase is different it would not be possible.

yeah nto reslistic. trsde in would be the best option

 

the only way i can think of doing this is either take it from the back and sheet metal in how ever much you wanted extend the frame and weld the tailgate assembly back on. or do it from the front and trim a whole shit load from the wheel wells to get them to slide back

 

get a bed extender or trade your truck

 

This is a major undertaking and $$$... full-on custom. If it's a must for you, just trade in your truck.

 

actually the thread should read short bed ... fit to standard size bed.

if access cabs came with short beds that would be a cool option

I agree! I've helped with a few BOB's in my day and I wish I could have my bed end and the axle for sure!

There are a hand full of custom shops that can do that, theres a company that makes the Dodge mega cab to a long bed, seen some of there stuff its just frame rail extensions and of course drive train, lines etc but yeah BIG BUCKS!
