It was my first addition to the truck over two years ago, and by far my favorite.

Is it the Softopper brand one ? I have a toolbox mounted on mine kind of curious if I could fit this cover on and keep my toolbox in still. If you have a snap chance sometime do you mind snapping a photo of the inside ?

Yes it’s made by Softopper. If your toolbox sits on top of the bed rails, then it will not work.

Can’t help but notice that all the LB photos are at an angle or from long distance.

I love the look of the short bed but I love the utility of a slightly bigger long bed. Pick your unicorn.

this is exactly how i feel about about it. They could both look equally weird OR equally pleasing.

I've owned both. The shortbed didn't stick around long. I play drums in a couple bands and the difference in cargo capacity between the short bed and long bed, although only a foot difference, is night and day. And I do think the DCSB looks somewhat disproportionate, as some have said on here. The wheel bumping up against the cab, and the fact that the hood/cab section is longer than the entire bed looks odd if ya stare at it long enough. Here is a pic of my old '17 shortbed, which I think was a nice looking truck. And here is my new-to-me '19 long bed. I think it looks really great. One of the best looking stock Tacomas I have seen.

Because that’s how you take a photo of a vehicle.

No worries ... I’ve always found the short bed to look fugly so I understand where you’re coming from but I just generally say I don’t really care for instead of the insult. :notsure:

My first vehicle was a Ford Ranger, regular cab long bed. Now THAT was odd looking. All of this talk about proportions makes me laugh. I have to admin the long bed makes the truck way more functional--as a *truck*.

This is coming from a guy with the short bed. I do generally value function over form--never quite get the trucks with the clam-shell lids. Or tiny short beds with giant tool boxes.

    Canada Eh!
Your truck looks decent as a long box due to the lift, larger tires and the bed rack/light bar that helps bridge the transition.

it wouldn’t be hard more complicated with getting the ECU, EMS, sensors, and a new wire harness all swapped over. It can be done though. At that point you might as well gut it and LS swap the thing, put in a solid front axle with long travel, air lockers, and 40s. That’d be sweet. It would piss of so many people.
