    1) Shorter box = less utility (toys or supplies)
    2) short box on DC looks like an adult elephant with a baby trunk :D
    3) long box = smoother rider over bumps
    4) Shag under the moonlight? long box = more fun :D
    5) red neck? Long box = bigger swimming pool

Silly? Not exactly! Why get it if you don't need it? The long one's tend to get in the way for downtown driving. Maybe if you lived in BFE, it's cool but i need my truck for downtown Austin driving and hauling stuff so short bed looks great and is fully functional.

To each their own I guess. Thats why the make different flavors of ice cream, people like different things. Short box still looks silly to me! :D

I think the DC LB looks goofy from any angle but a straight side shot. Straight on from the side, the DC LB looks more proportional than the SB. From any other angle, you can see how the DC LB is too narrow to be that long, and there's too much space between the wheel wells for wheels in the 31 to 33" range.

If they broadened the DC LB about 2 or 3 inches and it had factory 35s, then maybe we could talk. Otherwise, I prefer the SB...obv.

    So there! :p

I'm impressed that this is more/less a 50/50 split. I thought more people liked short beds.

    None yet...
    Short Bed.

Although I wish I had the function of a LB on occasion, my house/garage was built before I had my truck, and I did not make it long enough to accommodate a DC LB. (First home, raised ranch with small garage underneath).

I don't have any toys to haul yet, so.... it was either short bed, or long bed & a new garage; wouldn't want the taco out in the elements 24/7 365.

I bought a longbed because I haul alot of stuff, but deep down I wanted a short bed for the looks. So it depends on what your buying your tacoma for. If you plan on making cosmetic improvements buy the short bed. If you need your truck for utility purposes go with the long bed.

I like the short bed. I specifically shopped for a short bed and for 99% of the time it has been enough.

i have the Long Bed and like it a whole lot, I bought a used 2006 at a great deal , but when I was looking I could have gone either way. Now that I have the LB I dont think I would go back to short. I actually think it looks better now, but thats just because I own it. I have the extang hard flip cover, as you know the part closed to the cab is permanet down, so when I flip it back I like the extra space in a long bed.

I've got a short box because I like the look better, but man, my wife packs a bunch of $#@! when we go camping and I don't have a trailer or none of that so I wish I bought one with a long bed instead! I guess I'll have to get a trailer now though!

I didnt want or need the Double cabber model so I bought an access cabber.

If they actually made a short box A-Cab it would look weird. Love the long box and the A-Cab!!
