Mine is a d-cab long bed, no argument that the short beds look better, but I need to be able to haul my 4-wheeler in the bed & still pull a camper.

I love the look of my short bed. It really seems to fit the look of the truck. The only down side is bed space. I have a bed cover and a tool box, and it makes it almost impossible to load anything in the bed. I was trying to take a little folding table to the inlaws the other day and we had to take the wifes car because it wouldnt fit. As much as I like the look of the short bed, I would totally go with the long bed if I could do it over again. Just my thought.

I don't think I could live with a shortbed taco. In fact I find it ironic they call the long bed a long bed, its more of a regular bed. There have been numerous times in which the LB was just barely long enough to haul my cargo, SB forgetta'bout'eh!

Despite being limited, the SB is popular because the majority of truck drivers don't really need a truck or the cargo capacity rather they just enjoy owning a high ground clearance vehicle. Thus toyota, not being completely dense like some automakers markets the SB to these drivers.

Aesthetically, I think the LB looks like a truck whereas the SB looks like a compact truck.

    My $0.02 :p

I wouldn't buy a long bed, they just look to long for me. But I don't have the need to haul tons of stuff. I think it would depend on you needs though...

I don't understand how it is called a long bed. The bed is only 6ft. I think it should be called a standard bed :) I wish the bed was about a half a foot longer

I say long bed. i bought a truck because i needed one to haul stuff, hunting, etc.
The short bed may look better to some people, but i would not have one. By the time you put a tool box in a short bed, you are left with nothing. I rode in the back
of a short bed with a tool box, and it was scary. i felt like i was on the back basket of a atv, no room.

Long bed by far... I couldn't imagine having the short bed... With the long bed my tailgate still has to be open for my quad to fit... When I go to the lake for the weekend the bed barely holds everything... But with the long bed its hard to park and go off-road without hitting my step bars..

the long bed is still pretty short compared to normal trucks and if you ever carry anything of any size youll want it plus i do think it looks better

w/ the extender you get another solid ft so its leverages it out pretty nicely.

I think that long bed looks great. For some reason I have never thought about getting a bed extender. Maybe because I have an Undercover Bed Cover, How durable are they. If my quad was rolling out of my bed would the bed extender keep it from rolling out?
