Short box vs Long box

Seems like they were trying to limit the number of frame sizes they had to produce. I am assuming that the long bed 2 door has the same frame as the double cab short box. Obviously the regular cab had a shorter frame though so just the two sizes?

 

I'm thinking short, I just got my truck so I'm not too sure if mine is even short ha, its the 6ft bed

there are three frame lengths. one for the regular cab, one for access/DCSB and one for DCLB. they are all the same frame, just different lengths, no different sizes.

 

I like my bed short and my drinks tall

 

I worry about looks too, that's why I bought a Taco and not a Colorado or Dakota!

 

I had a 2007 Sport Trac V8 Limited. You won't hear me say one bad thing about the truck but the bed is too small for me - if you only carry small items, it's fine.

 

I have a long box. I may not use the room sometimes but when it's there, it's there. Either way it doesn't matter if you have it short or long. Either way a taco is a taco no matter how big or not big your bed is. I came from a two door vw so either way I love my taco, any taco no matter the size of the box, colour etc.

 

I like short box because I think the long box makes it look to long

Short or long ,doesn't matter,as long as its made of metal.

 

i say short if you drive a quad-cab. the long box is more functional but the overall length of the truck takes away from the appearance

 

Long if you buy your truck for truck stuff instead of appearance

 

If your truck is lifted, the long bed looks WAY better IMO. Stock the short bed looks better. Thats just looks. The functionality of each depends on what you bought the truck for.

 

short if you’r dad has a v8 tundra with 6’ bed and you have a 12 foot by 7 foot trailer. short is a little easier to park in tight parking lots.

I have a DCLB. ITS LONG. i wish it was a DC SB. but i need the room to haul dirtbikes. so i will be stuck with my dclb haha. but i still take it everywhere offroad. just need lift and skids!
