    Can ya spell Tonneau
I have the short, but really could have used the extra foot.
In a word, Tonneau! The short bed is as wide as it is long, so my tonneau folded up is too long to go in the cab, sideways, or longways and needs to be strapped on if I haul anything.
My first priority was 4x4' then 6spd, and for some unknown reason there doesnt seem to be a long DC 6spd anywhere.

    Does anyone have one?

Long bed. You can't use the short bed for much. I mean you can't even lay in it with your lady while at the lake or such.

I was torn over whether to get the sb or lb, but Toyota made it easy for me by not offering a DCLB TRD OR with a manual transmission. If you don't mind automatic trasmissions, or getting high centered or dragging your hitch, the long bed is definitely more utilitarian, but the short bed performs better offroad. IMO

If you thought you were going to get high centred and drag your hitch why would you have even considered a DCLB ?

as much as i use by short bed. the need for a longer bed is even less! i have only used my bed like 13 times in almost a year. only used dads tundra with a 6’ bed one time that was friday to get a 8’ x8’ hot tube cover that was folded so it was 8’ x4’. if i need a 6’ bed i can use dads any time or brothers silverado. if i need more room 7’X12’ trailer will get the job done.
if i was to do it agin it would be the same or an FJ. IMHO if you are not using it every day why not get short bed and a trailer. not saying LB is hard to park i have parked dullys with 8’ beds before. but SB is a little easier in tight parking garages and stuff or a garage at home. that’s main reason i got short bed other is off road does not come in LB.

My bike only fits in the long bed, so long bed is better in my opinion.

For Offroad the shorter the better, because you are less likely to get high centered. I bought mine with that mind. I also think I looks better.
