Short box vs Long box

YET is the key word. I also have YET to wish i had a long bed.

Idk how many times its been pointed out, but we can again. Let's "define terms" if you will. Toyota calls the 6' bed the "long bed" and the 5' the "short bed".

7+ would be long, 6' is just standard, 5' shorter than standard.

Most get the almost bed, which is absolutely fine if you don't need the 6'. But the key point to a Truck is having a bed, so anyone can admit that having a normal size one to haul more than a cut off shorter one is kind of the purpose of having a truck vs. another vehicle (completely generally speaking) without losing their mancard or something.

 

lol If you're talking strictly wheel base off road then a Double Cab was a poor choice. . . DCLB Taco is still a mid sized truck. If someone was taking a crew cab long bed full size off road that'd be a different story haha

 

The fact that non - midgets can sleep in the bed ?

Depends on where you're wheelin. My Yj is 119"WB, 42" TSL's, LT4, Tons, Back Halved, locked F&R, and I've had CJ 5's to Tahoes walk past me on wheelbase dependent obstacles. Helicopter Pad at Tellico was famous for this. In short it's hard to say a DC was a "poor choice".

A 6.5ft bed used to be a short bed. 8ft on a pickup is ultimate, rare these days, and trying to find my dad a RCLB 4x4 full size is a chore.

 

No, I actually wish my LB was longer sometimes to be honest. If it was just 3 inches longer it would be perfect. Marginal difference, but for me it would make all the difference in the world for a few of my hauling needs.

 

Why didn't you short box guys just get an FJ or a 4Runner ?

 

Yeah, a 6.5' would be nice.

 

I could fit more in my fiancés wagon than your short bed

 

arguments for pro long bed:

1. I can carry SOO much more stuff with the extra foot of bed length.
2. I can lay down in the bed and sleep.
3. .....

 

Meh. I'm still asleep in my long bed.
