I can sleep in the long bed with the tailgate up. I have about 5 inches of space when my knees are bent....

if you think thats packed, then you havent ever filled the bed of a truck up before ;)

I never had a problem with the ranger i had. 6', but probably about the same volume since it had lower sides and was narrower.

its all about consolidation. why do you need to carry around an extra foot if your bed isnt packed?

not anal but i just think short beds are pointless since i feel trucks should have large beds...short beds remind me of the escalade truck, the hummers with the little beds and the avalanches

My Avalanche hauled a lot of stuff. It actually has a large bed. Drop the back seats and it's an 8 foot bed.

I don't need the shortbed. I rarely haul anything except for my quad, which fits snug in the short bed. Also, it is easier to navigate the streets / parking lots of LA with the short bed :)

    BUILT, not bought...

If I ever run into the situation of need it and not have it (space wise), then I GUESS I'D NEED TO GET RID OF SOME SH*T!

    I hate clutter anyways.

The shortbed fits into the garage, that is if I ever get a chance to park in there...

The only place I really haul anything is the g/f when we go to the drive-ins.

    LMAO

Anyways, I think the long beds are ugly.

    my 2cents.

Short box fits the style of the truck best in my opinion. Short it is.

Even a short bed wouldn't fit in my garage... :pout:

I love my long bed. I use it all the time, and it isn't hard to maneuver or drive. As a matter of fact - I think that the ride is much smoother with the longer wheelbase.

    I agree.
14.5 more inches of wheelbase will do that.:)
The main reason why I bought the LB.

Just be happy you have a choice..In Canada if you want a double cab auto...Long Box is all you can get..manual Short is all you can get..
they dont even offer a sport access cab here..only offroad. i wanted a short bed, but since the long is all you can get in the dbl auto its grown on me and i think im going to get it
and i would agree that it looks more proportioned

because youre the one saying bigger is better and that you rather have it there and not use it then need it and not have it. so you might as well have gotten an 8' full size bed by that logic. If you think 12" is gonna make a huge difference then you must be one of those people that just throws things into the back of the truck and doesn't organize everything to fit properly ;)
