It's all about balance. If I bought a single / access cab, then short. But I bought a D-Cab and it looks better imo with a long bed.

I am glad I bought the LB because I was able to get a steal on a ST1300 motorcycle out of state by transporting it myself. So the utlity helps too.

Long bed. It has a smoother ride due to the longer wheelbase.

I have the short with the db cab and very happy with it. I know three friends who bought db cab with the long and they all regret it. Their issue is too long and they have problems parking. If you need the longer bed, that is great. It must suck getting one or the other and being unhappy with either choice once you bought it. Happy Holidays!!!!:p

Chicks are also well aware that the guys with the biggest trucks are trying desperately to compensate for other ...er, um, 'shortcomings'.

longbox tows better and handles better at hwy speeds due to the longer wheelbase. Plus you get more room in the box. Anybuddy that uses a truck as a truck will realize that the better deal is the longbox.

If looks are important. I think the short looks better but it can be awkward when hauling stuff like plywood. Plus the long wont fit in my short garage.

So people who use their truck off road aren't using them "as a truck"? There goes that theory.

I think the quintessential look for the Tacoma is the Access cab.

I kind've like the look of the DC short box, but from certain angles the bed looks funny.

I don't like the look of the DC long box, the truck then looks way too long.

The std cab looks alittle squished.

I should've put in there that I'm biased 'cause I used to have an Access cab. :D

The long bed hauls more crap, handles more stable at high speed, and looks proportional.

I do agree that the access cab "looks" the best out of the different configs, but once you have a DC it's hard to go back.

For looks I like the short bed but for use I like the long bed.
