    Maybe At some point in the near future. Ill either buy a 1980 something Toyota truck for the trails or trade but haven't decided yet.

    Yeah, I felt like i had to finish what i started. I've yet to get it where I want it. That and i cant afford to buy something new and start over.

    The Tundra version of the 4.7 fits pretty well. Wiring is pretty simple, but still a fair amount of work.

    I modified the cross member to work. I didn't cut anything off my frame.

    Well, it’s a pretty invasive job. And a bit nerve racking but I feel better about protecting the auto trans with the S/C. The verdict is still out if it’s really needed but it makes me feel a better about it. And it’s time consuming.

    As for how it shifts it’s definitely made a difference. The only think I don’t like so far is the 1-2 shift is a bit jerky unless you’re really on the gas. It’s kind of annoying and seems to lurch forward a bit. It’s very noticeable. I was damn sure to drill the holes in the separator plate per the directions for a “truck shift” which is supposed to be the most comfortable option. But can’t go back now. It’s also possible it’s something else. However I was happy to see that the pan was clean besides the magnets. They had a normal amount of gunk in them. So that’s good.

    I’m not really sure if it’s something else making 1-2 feel like that. Before I did it I had random jerky shifts but mostly with 2-3. I really don’t know why. But messing with the TPS, which has some effect on shift points, helped a little. Also my spring pack and drive shaft are so worn I think I get a lot of movement that I shouldn’t be getting. The axel wrap is really bad. Clamping them seemed to help smooth the shifts out as well. The leaf pack is next weekend so I’ll update then.

    I’ve also seen varying reports on the shifting post mod. There’s 4 different valve bodies and the probably vary slightly in performance. I don’t think anyone really knows for sure though. @Brice was chirping his tires at WOT. Mine doesn’t seem to do that. But I also have 80lb wheel/tire combo. Maybe he can chime in on the 1-2 shifts on his experience.

    Yeah 1-2 is jerky for sure. 2-3 and 3-4 are pretty normal at speed and the 1-2 calms down a bit once the transmission is warm. Now that the truck is turbod the axle wrap is awful. So bad you cant read the speedometer. I'm about to flip the axle over the springs though, so I hope that helps. I definitely like the shift kit though. Once traction is sorted I think it'll be much better. The install is pretty straightforward with the transgo instructions and it is time consuming. (I'd say set aside a full day) I had to install mine twice though since I installed the reverse proportioning valve backwards lol.

    I started at 12:00pm and didn’t get done till 3:30am....with a gas station and Napa break in there as well. So it’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

    The only thing I’m a bit worried about and a bit regretful is that I was so eager to get it done I didn’t fully scrape off
    All the old Toyota gasket. I scraped as much as I could, made sure everything else was tightly adhered and used a cork gasket. Now I can’t stop thinking about that stuff breaking apart and clogging something. Should be fine though.
