Should a 2010 DC OR have a TPMS in the Spare?

I developed a tiny tear in one of the side lugs on my Rugged Fails and so while I get a plug in it I have taken the spare out of the well and put in service.

I searched here and found many references to the spare tire having a TPMS but the valve stem on this steelie looks like a normal rubber stem.

It isn't like the metal based stems that are on the rest of my 16" OR alloys

Can anyone with a 2010+ confirm that the spare should have a TPMS?

Dude, it's a blessing. Every freakin' year I have to drop my spare and add air to make the damn light go off on the dash. Once the temp hits 20 degrees, I'm hosed.

 

My God, once a year you have to air up your spare so you won't have a flat spare if you need it?

How do you go on living?

 

i just did this on my 06 added to the spare.....what i dont get is how its being monitored when nothing is attached to it? aliens must be watching it

Have you ever thought of flipping the spare around so the fill valve is accessable? My '05 spare was pointed down (as it should be), but the '10 wasn't... So, when I did my rear differential breather mod (which I removed the spare to do, I put it back up with the stem pointed down!

I keep thinking I'm going to get a spare 285 and just be done with it, but other mods keep getting in the way of my budget!
