So I've waxed many cars in the past, but I've never put vinyl on my cars before. I've got a vinyl bed side sticker I'm planning on applying this weekend. My question is, should I apply the vinyl before or after I clay bar / wax the truck? I've looked around on this forum and on google and don't see anything conclusive. Can anyone weigh in?

If it were me, I'd use a clay bar with soapy water but not wax under the sticker.

Others who know more will hopefully chime in, I'm curious on what is best as well :p

Clay bar the surface to remove oxidation, fall out, contaminates etc.,then apply vinyl. Then follow with wax.

If you wax before seems to me its going to cause issues with it adhering.

So the consensus seems to be:
wash -> clay bar-> apply vinyl -> wax

Thanks for the feedback. Anyone have any other insights?

So, I'm an idiot. I was powering through my wash / clay / wax session and completely forgot to apply my vinyl. My question now is how long do I need to wait before applying it in the future? A week? A month? More than that? Thanks.
