So google says the 5 lug rwd is a 15" and the metric conversion puts stock at 8.46 wide 26.8 tall, He's at 10.4 wide and 30.5 tall.
I'm sure it has to work but that's what these trucks do! I'm glad my 2.7 is manual!
It will cause maintenance that's about it! Truck looks cool would not had thought 5 lug!

What specific kinds of maintenance issues can I expect in the long run?

    I don't think I can answer that.
My best guess not knowing much about the 5 lug compared to 6.
Same motor I guess and transmission's? Keep it greased change the fluids. Should be fine if the 2 are built similar.

Mostly it's CV axle boots prematurely wearing if you do a lot of offroading since the suspension cycles a lot. Ymmv if it's a daily driver with occasional off road use.

It sure doesn't look like one with the lift and tires tho.

Just need to worry about wheel bearings and drivetrain wear OP. Did you regear at all?
I had a stock 5 lug and it had pretty decent power. I loved that thing.

What. No way, I need to look at that again, if that's shits vegan, they should be sued.

Edit: no shit. I didn't get past the bacon spread when I first saw it.

But I guess it just helps prove, bacon makes everything better, even fake bacon

Personal opinion and I'm no expert but he may have a point in the size of tire to the size of engine you have. You can plus one from stock but plus two or three? I don't know, I think your making that engine work harder and you may have to re gear your transfer case for that size tire as well. Suspension wise I don't see a problem other than fuel economy but of course bigger tire will effect fuel economy as well.

Shit tastes more like bacon than
Well bacon. It goes with freaking everything. I've never really looked at what it's made from till now. It's good shit be it whale sperm or vegan if that's what it is.

Nope, I haven't re-geared yet. It's on my wishlist, but not likely to happen anytime soon.

The truck is my daily driver. It will probably never go off-road.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe regear if it's sluggish. Stock 6 lugs with the 4cyl run that size tire stock.
Even all pros black Betty runs the 4cyl... But it probably tops out at 50mph

My daily is a 5-lug and it doesn't look like it should be lifted. Just not made for it. I could see why your mechanic said that.

I wouldn't worry at all about the motor or the trans if it's the same trans as a 6 lug 2.7 truck.

Some consumable suspension components are likely all you'll be wearing, and those are normal items.

    Seriously wouldn't be concerned.

There's a 5 lug subforum, you could spend some time in there and read/ask questions. There's an entire thread for lifted 5 lug trucks.
