No need to appologize. The guy really wants to buy this truck, and I really think he is trying to help his buddy, but he will end up effin him self over in the long run, or better yet sonner than he expects.

If those prices are right, I see where you are coming from. Its just tuff cause if he goes to trade that truck in, they are not gonna give him anything for the aftermarket stuff for the most part. (they never have given me squat for aftermarket things, even with Dinan upgrades on a bimmer). I see the benefit of buying a truck just like you like it-

A lot of people tend to think a vehicle is worth more the it really is.
    Your friend is no exception.
Is it worth what he thinks? Maybe.
Can he actually find a buyer that will pay that much on the market? Probably not.

Try this - list that deal on Craig's list, see if you get any calls or emails.

Your bargaining position is weakened by the fact that you are a friend.
Toyota makes thousands of trucks every year, but friends are more rare.
So - preserve your friendship and walk away from this "deal".

Let us know what he gets for it when he sells it on the open market.

    not sure what that means...
but honestly... 15k miles on an 09 and he wants you to pay top $$ and give him 2k for mods done to the truck?
i would say hell no and go check out a brand new pre runner @ your local dealer. maybe some left over 09 stock. i am sure they would be willing to deal, especially if your cred it perfect as you mentioned earlier.

WOW so went down from 28k to 26k that quick? Now it might be worth it but find out why he really wants to get rid of it. Also remember if you do buy this truck your friendship has great potential of suffering or crashing. Money changes ppl QUICKLY.

Thanks all for input. Seems like its not a huge deal. I told him from the get-go that if it wasnt a smokin' deal I wasnt buying it...

My plan now is to just buy a new one. I agree that an 09 with 15,000 is high, and that a new one is only a couple thousand more...

Ive got a tacoma that ill be selling which will give me a down payment, AND around 4k for mods. So really your all right... I can get a new one for that price :D

Thanks for the help and ill be back with pics of my new ride...
