grille painted to match body color (black sand pearl), bed mat, intermittent wipers installed, 14" shorty antenna.
I just got a 2009 Tacoma, reg. cab with black exterior. The upper grille is "argent" (Toyota description)--kind of tan-green-gray in color. Not too fond of this color. I'm trying to decide whether to have the upper grille painted black to match the body or buy an after-market grille. Any suggestions? Any disadvantages of having the upper grille painted black? Was quoted $125 to have it painted. Thoughts/comments are appreciated.

get it painted black to match.. i think that's a decent price if they do it properly for ya.
    disadvantages?
doubt it, unless they use a crappy paint that comes off with the dead bugs you wash off.

GO DIY!! Duplicolor makes a wheel paint that is pretty high quality and fairly heavy duty.

Go match the black of the body...or get a low gloss/satin to give it a tone on tone look.

Take the grill out- clean it really well- Sand lightly with a 2000 grit paper (not so deep that it'll gouge into the plastic)- Wipe with alcohol wipes- Paint many light coats (spray light amount on and give it 30 mins or more to dry, then do another light layer)- and then decide if you want to clear coat or not. If you do-Paint it on the same way.

Insted of 125 you are into it for 20 bucks in paint and a few hours. And if you don't like it you can still take it in and get it done professionally.

And yeah- I say paint that bad boy DIY for now- and if you find an aftermarket grill you like-You can.
